Mooresville, North Carolina (March 6, 2023) - There has been several Japanese-born drivers throughout NASCAR’s 75 Years, but one will step back into the seat with Akinori Ogata piloting the No. 46 Kyowa-Eidemiller Precision Machining Tundra on March 18th, at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.
“I am glad we could get this deal done,” Viens commented on the signing. “Ogata has been a significant part of NASCAR’s International drivers that came into the sport and I am happy he is with us.”
Ogata has made multiple starts across all regional and national touring series of NASCAR. He has made 13 starts in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series in the last eight seasons, while he has made five NASCAR XFINITY Series starts.
In those starts, he holds claim to a best finish of 18th at New Hampshire in 2015, and a best result of 25th, again at New Hampshire, but the finish occurring last season. He has also been active in the ARCA Menards Series East Division, running several races throughout the last few years.
