Homestead, Florida (November 16, 2022) - After bringing Fanttik on-board for the weekend, Brennan Poole and team were geared up to race the No. 46 Fanttik Toyota Tundra.
In the lone practice session, Poole recorded a fast lap of 34.011 seconds, good enough for 28th fastest. With weather on the way, everyone in the garage started scrambling to prepare their cars for qualifying. But Poole and team stood steadfast, knowing they had a good truck for the next day’s 200-mile race. Right before qualifying, rain began to fall around the 1.5-mile Homestead-Miami Speedway, delaying qualifying. Unlike road courses, the trucks are unable to run ovals on rain tires. NASCAR officials tried their hardest to get qualifying in, but they were unsuccessful. This put Poole in the 35th starting spot for the Baptist Health 200. The next day, Poole was determined to race his way to the front. As he climbed into his Fanttik machine, he began to focus on the race. By the time the engines were fired, he was locked in and ready to go. At the drop of the green flag, Poole started his drive to the front. Within the first five laps, he had already made it to 30th, and continued moving forward. By lap ten, he found himself in the 26th position. As the stage went on, Poole drove up higher and higher in the standings. By the end of Stage 1, Poole had made his way to just outside the Top-20. During the stage break, Poole brought his truck down for service. Unfortunately, a slow pit stop pushed him back to 29th for the restart. Poole again settled in to make his way back through the field. As the stage progressed, Poole had difficulty getting around slower trucks, thus slowing his forward progress. By the end of Stage 2, he had only gained two spots from the restart. After pit stops, the team picked up Poole some spots on pit road, vaulting him to 24th. As the final stage began, Silva communicated to the team that they were going to try and play strategy to get up-front with the leaders. Then, as the leaders began to pit, Poole and his Fanttik Tundra began making its way up the leaderboard. As the laps ticked off, Poole had made his way up to 15th, before bringing his Tundra onto pit road for the final stop of the day. The crew pulled off a great stop, hoping to keep him inside the Top-20 for the remainder of the race. Poole came out of the pits on the 19th, as he attempted to hold his position. As the race began to come to a close, Poole reported the truck was getting tight in the corners. This led to a couple of trucks getting by before the checkered flag. Poole crossed the line in 23rd, one of his better runs this season. That will do it for the 2022 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season for us. We will look to have a strong outing at Daytona in February. We plan to announce our driver lineup in the following months, as we work to improve our program. And finally, we want to thank our loyal fans who have been with us through the good and the bad. We truly appreciate you. |
